Interesting, you are right. I also have a nVidia chipset mainboard.
My onboard gigabit network chip is:

0000:00:08.0 Bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP55 Ethernet (rev a2)
0000:00:08.0 Class 0680: 10de:0373 (rev a2)

Class 0680 is just called "acpi/bridge" by my pcisleep tool.
To be more exact, 0680 is a typical type for southbridges.
