One thing I found interesting about this Hotboot functionality through JEMMEX is that you can write to MEMDISK, reboot, and then the contents is still there. Might be usefull somehow. And ofcourse there's a rapid 'Fdisk + Format C:' then possible without BIOS messing around with 'hey harddisk has been partitioned, let's boot from it instead of from cdrom' (while not noticing missing MBR, formatting and bootsectors). Reason for this is the reboot triggers loading the bootsector loading from the same device as the last time (and nothing you can do to prevent this except ofcourse adding something like MetaKern to chain through to C:) I didn't try kernel 3028 itself with reboot programs (FDISK REBOOT, FDAPM with all 3 reboot strategies working fine), just 2038+JEMMEX and FDISK/FDAPM. Works flawlessly in VMware at least, without any helper driver as mentioned in JEMMEX documentation. Guess an official kernel release is required first before Japheth removes that line :) Bernd ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
