I hope that effort wasn't just to put the data into XML, since there is an option to the MySQL dump command that puts the data into well-formed XML. Go ahead and open your own ticket, and reference #1193376 (title: "Tracker usage question: Bugzilla conversion inquiry"). Opened 2005-05-02, closed 2008-01-04. Based on their previous response, I'm not confident that you'll get any traction. So I'd rather not wait forever on a false hope.
