I hope that effort wasn't just to put the data into XML, since there
is an option to the MySQL dump command that puts the data into
well-formed XML. You could have used that. :-)
-X, --xml dump a database as well formed XML

We looked at that option as part of my support ticket with SourceForge.

Here's part of the response that SourceForge gave me when we last touched it:

Since this ticket was originally submitted, we've had two administration
changes and a number of roadmap changes. At this point, I don't perceive
that we'll be able to deliver on this sort of functionality any time soon.
I'm going to go ahead and convert this ticket over from a Support Request
to a Feature Request and we can leave it on the books as open.

The current administration has determined that we do not have the
resources available to pursue this sort of project right now in addition to
our existing roadmap projects.

But if you can get them to do it, more power to you. I'm not getting
my hopes up that they've changed their minds. :-)

Not sure what you're asking there. I was willing to donate my own $$
to fund a partial FTE to work on this. The effort would benefit both
FreeDOS (would convert our bugzilla database to the Tracker) and
SourceForge (could use that tool to draw in other projects that also
used bugzilla).

Go ahead and open your own ticket, and reference #1193376 (title:
"Tracker usage question: Bugzilla conversion inquiry"). Opened
2005-05-02, closed 2008-01-04.

Based on their previous response, I'm not confident that you'll get
any traction. So I'd rather not wait forever on a false hope. Let's
see what kind of response you can get by mid-February, and then let's
continue forward on doing our own cutover.
