Free / Open Source Software is definitely preferred. We have allowed a few non-free programs in the past, but today we prefer to include only free software. Common licenses include GNU GPL, LGPL, BSD, MIT, Artistic, etc. I'd caution against adding more packages to the FreeDOS 1.1 distro at this stage - but if it's really really cool and/or useful, we may opt to include it anyway. For example: mTCP. I've discussed elsewhere (blogs, etc) that I'd like to see FreeDOS 1.1 that's really an update / incremental improvement on FreeDOS 1.0. But with FreeDOS 2.0, I'd encourage a much closer look at what "DOS" should look like in 2011, and feel free to add/remove packages. But that's a discussion for after we get 1.1 out there. -jh ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ AppSumo Presents a FREE Video for the SourceForge Community by Eric Ries, the creator of the Lean Startup Methodology on "Lean Startup Secrets Revealed."
