For the most part, I have decided to use the media layout used by Mateusz's 
repo CD.

At present, there no plans to do that. However, based on how FDI is designed, 
it would be extremely
easy to add packages to your own custom install media. You can just add you 
package to the the
 \FDSETUP\SETUP\FDALLB.LST text file for it to be included in the “All 
Packages” install. Or, a more
a more complex option is to add a FDINS???.BAT to the installer to handle 
additional setup
requirements.
