interesting find. did you try any of the alternatives DRVLOAD, DEVLOD,
DDL ...

'with 'favorite DEBUG tool' I was referring in my case to SoftICE that
doesn't suffer from this problem.

others would probably WDEB386 and others.

DEBUG is pretty much useless in my eyes ;)

however it's mostly on Jerome to debug his config.sys/autoexec.bat
