I vaguely know of DJ DeLorie's port of GNU C++ to DOS, known as DJGPP, but I don't see any direct relevance to DESQview, that is what I am trying to get at. > > What are "P4" and "P5" here? > > Versions of the original Pascal system, I think? > > UCSD used Roman numeral major versions, IIRC; this is the "Pascal" > operating system that ran on the Apple ][. I did see the UCSD p-System very briefly in the first days of my first job. But as you say, it had versions I, II, III and IV. I don't think there ever was a 5 or a V. Pascal as a lineage went: Pascal -> Modula -> Modula-2 -> Oberon Various companies did their own derivatives and follow-ons, such as Modula-3, but those above are the Wirthian languages, and only them. So I don't know what "Pascal 4" or "Pascal 5" could be, and "P4" and "P5" aren't standard abbreviations that I know of for programming languages -- they are Intel CPU families. -- Liam Proven ~ Profile: https://about.me/liamproven Email: lpro...@cix.co.uk ~ gMail/gTalk/FB: lpro...@gmail.com Twitter/LinkedIn: lproven ~ Skype: liamproven IoM: (+44) 7624 277612: UK: (+44) 7939-087884 Czech [+ WhatsApp/Telegram/Signal]: (+420) 702-829-053 _______________________________________________ Freedos-devel mailing list Freedos-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freedos-devel
