On more thing on UPX…
Programs that are newly UPX compressed need tested to insure they still work
properly.
As a fun experiment to demonstrate how important that is…
Install MS-DOS 6.x
Install UPX
Change to the DOS directory,
Run: UPX —8086 *.EXE *.COM
The result will be a nearly completely non-functional operating system.
However, I do not recall if running UPX to decompress those binaries got
things working again.
