I should add that a file gets created, but with zero size. I've tried
with several filenames.


I think this might be a problem with SHARE. Exiting back to FreeDOS, I
can't delete those zero-length files until I reboot and *don't* load
SHARE.

Additional info:
After loading SHARE, I can use Edlin to create a new file (like
C:\TEMP\F.TXT) and I can use Type to display the contents, but I can't
delete it using Del. I get "Permission denied" (but Attrib reports
[----A]). I need to reboot and *not* load SHARE in order to delete the
F.TXT file.
