I downloaded Arachne 1.70 (DOS), and tried it against (a local copy of) the FreeDOS.org redesign. Looks okay, except that PNG graphics are not supported. The "marble" pattern doesn't exist, and the banner graphic and "download" button are not displayed.

Am I doing something wrong? I thought Arachne supported PNG.
I don't know. Perhaps they have a separate plug-in for PNG? But why don't you use GIFs? The Unisys Lempel-Ziv-Welch patent expired 8 months ago (see http://www.unisys.com/about__unisys/lzw)
