The tool basically moves the partition table to somewhere in the track 0 area. When you put the hard disk as slave, you can't access it (It's a neat protection). When it boots, it temporarily unhides the partition so the OS can see it and boot, and then hides it again. With any version of MS-DOS everything works as expected but with FreeDOS the kernel boots but it doesn't find command.com and asks for it. I have no way of doing a "dir" to see if everything's on place. A message like "illegal partition table" is shown by the FreeDOS' kernel.
