It might be a wrong warning, possibly related to loadhigh.
Or maybe doslfn simply returns errorlevel 43 without error.

Classic stable FreeCOM 0.82pl3 has almost no LFN, but
newer (less stable) FreeCOM 0.84 has LFN at many places.

I think you still use /LFN option for DIR, but you also
can do SET LFN=Y (for example in autoexec) to enable LFN
for most commands with this newer FreeCOM version :-).
