It is an option of the sys.com config command and sets a flag in the actual
kernel.sys file.

You can run sys config before or after running format /s (which just runs
sys drive) as long as the kernel.sys you modify is the one used.


Yes depending on BIOS and method of access, the size and geometry of the
disk can effect how much of drive is seen.  Using LBA may help or depending
on age of BIOS you may need a drive overlay program to replace BIOS.
