I fully agree with you that it is useless to discuss the matter any further with the FSF. I just checked the FSF website and found their list of acceptable Linux distributions. For some reason I had made the assumption that the FSF went hand in hand with Linux, but mostly it doesn't. Most Linux distros do not meet their definition of free software. That, coupled with what you have encountered on behalf of FREEDOS, seems to lessen the relevance of the FSF.
