You might do well to find a 10+ year old Dell or HP desktop.  Depending on
the hardware and software compatibility you need and area you live in, you
should be able to find such devices inexpensively or even free as e-waste
of public schools or old business machines.

I have collected several Dell Optiplex 780, 790, 9010, 9020 and they all
work well with booting DOS from USB drive as a starting point.   These
machines can switch between UEFI and BIOS boot mode and you can find DOS
drivers for their built in sound and Ethernet hardware.  Their BIOS is also
well suited to boot from USB drives and adapters.
