I'm sure I read somewhere that the MINIMUM clock frequency for Atom
processors is something like half the maximum - much more than 100MHz.

You might want to look into that before spending too much time on what
might turn out to be a dead end.

4 hrs., when running Windows 7 Super Lite, but when running DOS
(regardless,which,i have both,MS-DOS 6.22 & FreeDOS 1.3 on it),
battery is dead within 1.5hrs.

To get lower power consumption I'd expect that Windows would be doing
a lot more than just reducing the CPU clock frequency.
