Hi, Is there any reason why the EPEL or other linux distros still contain ancient versions of freeipmi? Are there any redhat rpm spec files available to create an binary rpm.
People are using old versions of freeipmi because that is what is currently available in EPEL. http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL yum install freeipmi Loaded plugins: fastestmirror Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile * base: bay.uchicago.edu * extras: mirrors.easynews.com * updates: centos.icyboards.com Setting up Install Process Resolving Dependencies --> Running transaction check ---> Package freeipmi.x86_64 0:0.7.16-3.el6 will be installed --> Finished Dependency Resolution Dependencies Resolved ================================================================================================================================================================================================================= Package Arch Version Repository Size ================================================================================================================================================================================================================= Installing: freeipmi x86_64 0.7.16-3.el6 base 1.0 M Transaction Summary ================================================================================================================================================================================================================= Install 1 Package(s) Corey Osman _______________________________________________ Freeipmi-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/freeipmi-devel
