Hello,

Checked freeipmi and I don't see it in EPEL.
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/collections/id/13

These two answers seems relevant to discussed topic:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL/FAQ#Is_EPEL_commercially_supported_by_Red_Hat.3F
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL/FAQ#Does_EPEL_replace_packages_provided_within_Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux_or_layered_products.3F

Here is some spec file too:

Since it is part of RHEL the best answer I have

I have no idea why. I have complained to Redhat about this fact but my
guess is they don't have enough people to watch EPEL packages. In fact,
the version of FreeIPMI in RHEL6 is the same version as it was in RHEL5.

The tar.gz distributed by on the main website has a rpm spec file within
it. So with luck a

rpmbuild -ta freeipmi-X.Y.Z.tar.gz

should build you a set of RPMs.
