I've had that happen.  Actually, even worse:  I rebooted the computer (CAD),
and it locked up.  I did it again, it locked up.  So, I hit the power
button.  Not the reset button, the power button.  Turned it off for about 3
seconds, powered it back up.  MY COMPUTER LOCKED UP.  Not during the boot. 
In the BIOS.

At that point, I was scared.  I turned off the computer and watched my watch
for a full 30 seconds.  Turned it on.  It worked fine......

Go figure.
