I am absolutely scared to death of the fact that our economy is totaly
dependant upon the market, which is full of paranoid and insane people.
They hear the tiniest rumor of some stock about to go up and they jump on
it, buying up as much as they can, and when they hear another tiny rumor
about some other stock about to get into trouble they rush to sell all of
their shares off.
Banks have had this problem before, someone starts a nasty rumor that the
bank is running out of money to give to people when they go to withdraw,
and suddenly everyone tries to withdraw all their money at the same time.
A Rush on a Bank will usualy bankrupt the bank, a very bad thing for the
bank, and usualy a bad thing for a lot of other people too.
If only people would be more reserved and not nearly is scared about
things like that, then the markets and banks and ulitmately our economy
would do so much better. Fear is a VERY powerfull motivator, but it
isn't always a good thing.
