No, it, in fact, doesn't work at all. The bset you can do is erase a line
at a time with ^K. A good reason to use emacs for email, not that I've
ever had time to learn. Actually, I'm only using pine over break while I'm
away from my own machine. I usually use Netscape Messenger. But anyway,
copying a three-page disseration on fake nodes for a ten-line reply at the
bottom is just annoying, especially is you have to page through it in
pine. And it wasn't just one person--the second reply didn't trim either.
