Is this on a FreeBSD system by chance?

I am not by any means a good programmer but the last time I saw this
error message was on a FreeBSD server and it didn't like the fact that I
was free()'ing a pointer outside of the function I malloc()'ed it in. I
did a little research into the problem and I know it is part of the
malloc library that FreeBSD uses and its extended debugging features.
Beyond that I didn't really get anywhere. The farthest I did get was to
cause my program to give the opposing error about the pointer being "too
high to make sense". I got sidetracked and never finished the project.

Anyone else know the cause of this message?
