Ah, I fixed that, thanks.
The intent was to allow lower level module make files to set a
variable, and include rules.mak. But the $(R) thing conflicted with
the top-level $(R). I've changed the rules.mak to use $(RLM_DIR),
instead.
Can you verify that it works for building the debian package?
