Hi. I am getting this error when setting up MySQL 3.23 to run on FreeRadius 0.3:
[root@localhost internetsubmit]# /usr/local/sbin/radiusd start radiusd: Starting - reading configuration files ... radiusd: radiusd.conf[4]: sql: Module instantiation failed. Is it looking for MySQL modules, or the module of FreeRadius itself? Maybe my configuration path to MySQL modules was incorrect? What do you think? When starting the debugging mode, you said: >radiusd -X > >do you actually mean this?: > >/etc/init.d/radiusd start -X init.d hold startup scripts which do various things to prep and then start up daemons, freeradius amongst them... You can actually fire up the radius daemon itself directly (not that you should in a production seup). I think it's in /usr/local/sbin or /usr/sbin (sorry - not near my server). From the relevant binary directory, just do: ./radiusd -X > >To install the "mysql-devel" package, do I have to completely re-configure >MySQL or use an RPM and just add it to it? Not entirely sure - I think you can just install the devel package over your existing install...
