This issue is fixed within prior posts; however, it does raise an interesting question.
The defaults for Chap-Password and Chap-Challenge are "string" in the dictionary file. Changing them to "octets" outputs the same data in hex with leading 0x which is simple and useful to deal with. With the defaults as they are, what useful purpose does escaped octal serve? It seems as if the default for these 2 should be octet in the dictionary files so it's at least usable data?
