Hi Alan, Hi All,

Please help.

I am new to freeradius and I guess you have a lot of experience with it.

My problem is:
I am about to set up free radius to authenticate against an Oracle database.
In fact. I am abot to install free radius for the first time.
I work for an ISP and my intended setup is thus:
3 difffent groups -
(a) email-only (to be issued non-routable IPs - possibly 10.x.x.x)(email access
only during week days, full acess during weekends)
(b) rushour (other IPs - 63.x.x.x), allowed access 24-7, internet/email access
(c) sunset (IPs as rushour), allowed acess 7pm-7am, internet/email access
(d) redeye (IPs as above), allowed access 12pm-7am, internet/email access

We use optigold (an accounting package) from which we intend to populate the
database - we can get the following attributes (and more) from Optigold - ip-address,
netmask, username (login name), type-of-service/group (rushour, email, sunset, redeye),
password,account-status(enabled/disabled), accout-type/service-type (ppp, framed-user,etc )

Notes - I would prefer to have the IP addresses configured at the freeradius level,
I would also like to avoid using the accout-type if possible.

Based on all these, what tables would I need at the Oracle level, and more improtantly,
how would my SQL statements in (sql.conf or radiusd.conf?) look? i.e., things like
default group etc.

I have looked at a sample config file for sql authentication and frankly, it looked like Greek!
I don't even know where to start!
Please, I would so much appreciate your help - as I have "to deliver!"

Hope to hear from you soon.

Regards,
Tunde Itayemi.
