Hi,

I've got a problem with an Ascend Max 4000 with freeradius 0.2.
All was working well, but one day, users was unable to log.

I tried to test with radtest with my linux client on the radius server, and
that works. (radtest login password ip-addr 10 secret -> Access-Accept
packet from host "Radius-Server", id=84, length=44)
Nothing new in the radius.log. Just an error i had since i installed radius
few months ago:

Thu Mar 14 07:15:22 2002 : Error: Received accounting packet from
"ip-addr_nas"
 with invalid signature!

The radwatch.log gives me on jun 21 and Jul 2:

Fri Jun 21 17:29:46 WEST 2002: Radius died, restarting..
radiusd: Starting - reading configuration files ...
radiusd: /etc/radius/raddb/clients[1]: Failed to look up hostname mr-m
ax
radiusd: Errors reading clients
radiusd: Errors reading radiusd.conf

Radwatch.log now:

Tue Aug 13 11:40:54 WEST 2002: Radius died, restarting..
auth bind: Address already in use
radiusd: Starting - reading configuration files ...

I tried to send Max logs in a syslog server, and i saw:

Aug 16 09:28:01 mr-max Radius client timeout (code=1) for user
initial-banner-mr-max
Aug 16 09:28:02 mr-max Radius client timeout (code=1) for user
route-mr-max-1

That user are not in my users file, and i don't understand why they are in
that log.
When i try to log with a workstation and a modem, i see in the max logs:

Aug 16 09:42:35 mr-max ASCEND: slot 6 port 11, line 1, channel 7, Call
Connected, MBID 118 [MBID 118; ->0235]
Aug 16 09:42:35 mr-max ASCEND: call 131 AN slot 6 port 11 VOICE 0235
Aug 16 09:43:05 mr-max Radius client timeout (code=1) for user "user"
Aug 16 09:43:06 mr-max ASCEND: call 131 CL 0K  u="user" c=45 p=65 s=50667
r=26400
Aug 16 09:43:06 mr-max ASCEND: slot 6 port 11, line 1, channel 7, Call
Disconnected [MBID 118; ->0235]
Aug 16 09:43:06 mr-max ASCEND: slot 6 port 11, Call Terminated [MBID
118; ->0235]

The authentication timeout is 2 seconde but we tried 60 secondes.

I was thinking that the radius server was unable to receive the request, so
i used tcpdump to find that requests on the network and i had the response:

Radius server -> NAS : rad-account-resp 20

Is there anyone that could help me??
thanks in advance.

Stephane
