Dear  Mr. Murthy,

For your problem RADIUS is the most feasible solution and most secure one. Moreover it has got a lot of authentication systems which you can use and you can integrate with LDAP, MySQL, MS-SQL server etc. I am working in an ISP and all our authentication, authorization and accounting is done by the RADIUS server for the dial-up customers as well as for the DSL and VPN customers. And for your information our server did not crashed since it was installed two years back and there was no security issues anything either.

SO I would strongly suggest you to use RADIUS for your problem if you plan to run your system on Linux Platform. But one thing more, if you are planning to use Microsoft operating system then I would suggest that you go for TACAS+.

Anyway both systems are reliable and secure.
