We're running image X17.0.1 on our Bay Annex 5399 and we found trouble
trying to make it authenticate on FreeRADIUS (http://www.freeradius.org/)

In their documentation (http://www.freeradius.org/radiusd/doc/bay) we found
what caused the problem which is exactly what is shown below:

"All versions of the BAY software prior to 18.0.2 are broken in
regards to the Message-Authenticator. They send a strictly MD5
encoded secret instead of the encoding required by the RFC. This has
been fixed in 18.0.2 and only 18.0.2.

If you see messages in the radius log like:

Received packet from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx with invalid Message-Authenticator!

and you are using a Bay Annex, then you MUST upgrade the software on
your Annex. There is NO other solution to the problem"

Then, we downloaded from www.nortelnetworks.com the latest software for 5399
"5399 & 8000 RAC 9.0 Unix" which, according to the release notes contains
image version:

IMG_VERSIONS="R18.0-2"

The image update went on fine, but the problem persisted.

- Is there a 18.0.2 image as said on the FreeRADIUS documentation or are
they talking about R18.0-2?

- Is there a newest image version? If so, where can we download it?

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Regards,

Alberto Pereira
