Hi all, I am new to Radius and FreeRadius. I have some doubts about the radius protocol and Freeradius.
1. I want to use Radius for authentication only and DHCP for IP address allocation. How can I configure Freeradius to do this. Also what needs to be done if I want IP address to come from local pool maintained by NAS. 2. Assuming that we use different servers for Authentication and Accounting, How does Radius server comes to know the end of and user session. There is no message which indicates end of a session. Does radius servers needs to know end of user session. 3. Is it true that Radius server will always assign same IP address to user (specifed in "users" file) during different sessions. It would be great if you could point me to some reference material.
