what is 802.11x? 802.1X has been standard since summer 2000.

do you mean there is an EAP-draft for IEEE-leap? something like eap-leap 
or eap-cisco? which id does it have in that case?

i would agree that leap is proprietary. it would be nice to have it but 
i kind of think sometimes that supporting proprietary protocols is just 
unfair :)

anyway, it's the way that goes. if anyone codes down leap, it would 
certainly not be rejected, why should it?
