PAP and CHAP

Anyone have any idea how to set up PAP and CHAP.  I keep getting a blank 
 password when I set up the account and dial in with it.  PAP works 
fine though.

We're using a national company for dial-up numbers.  Some of there 
servers use pap some use chap.
