I am trying to run freeRADIUS with CHAP. I am sending it a packet with User-Name and CHAP-Password, CHAP password being the MD5 of original password. In the users file I have made the Auth type as local and written the password in plain text with Password:="testing". The freeRADIUS replies that the password does not match with the original plain text one. I expect that for CHAP the server should send Access challenge message whatever the password may be. I have also tried sending the packet without password but the response says that there should be user password or CHAp password available. I think I have some mistake in my understanding. I have tried reading FAQ and list archive but cant get hold of anything. Please tell me what can be the problem for I cant make it out from FAQ or mail archive. Thank you. Saba
