  It means that the server needs a clear-text password to do EAP-MD5
authentication.

  This is not a clear-text password.  It's also hideously wrong for
other reasons.

  This topic has been discussed multiple times on this list in the
past few days.  Use a clear-text password, and stop complaining that
EAP-MD5 won't work with Crypt-Password, we've already told you why.
