In the meantime I looked up the source code (very easy to read and well commented) and saw that this spec was implemented thanks to the rfc_check() function, called just after the building up of the reply (and some other sanity checks). It's just weird that in debugging mode this function doesn't send any message if the built reply contains non-conform attributes, is there a reason ? ...
