hi alan, i had previously sent a mail saying....... i am planning to add a new attribute say something like MAC-address which is not present right now in the attribute list. now i add the attribute in the dictionary using the line
step 1--ATTRIBUTE MAC-Address 250 octets i am sure nothing is to be modified in 'sql.conf' as i want this to be in the existing query.so sql.conf is not touched. step 2--only thing i shld be doing is adding this attribute into the existing table i.e radreply table. inspite of steps 1 and 2...i am not able to get the MAC-Address in the access-accept on a remote machine, even when i get it correctly while running server in debug mode (where i can see the message). i get Ascend-PW-Lifetime=-1 on my remote machine instead of MAC-Address=00-DB-F2-GB-99-F1 which i get on the server side. ....can you tell me what i am doing wrong well i found out something but not completely as of yet..... in /usr/share/dictionary.............. i have given my new attribute line as follows ATTRIBUTE MAC-Address 208 string this type 208 is linked somehow to dictionary.ascend from whih i am getting Ascend-PW-Lifetime=-1 on my client side. now, could someone explain how these dictionary files are associated.also if i am using 'dictionary' ....why are types from 'dictionary.ascend' taken. some input will be useful.... thanx & regards, manjunath - List info/subscribe/unsubscribe?
