problems using netscreen specific attributes

After installing the netscreen dictionary and using some of the 
attributes in the users file.  When I try to telnet to my netscreen box, 
I get the following error, after entering username and password:

password: Unknown switch option: 1 @ ../comm/auth_admin.c(1617)
The radius server sends an access-accept package so it seems ok from 
that end.  Does anyone have any ideas what is going on here?

(i'm on the latest version of freeradius).
