  That's a general Unix problem, and not one which is specific to
FreeRADIUS.

the "configure" script won't work, either.

It may be a common UNIX problem, but it's not like UNIX prevents you from handling it. I don't suspect it's a FreeRADIUS problem, necessarily, it may just be an autoconf problem. But, in either case, I think blaming UNIX is out of place.
