Very strange. Even worse, when I read the code in src/main/valuepair.c, function presufcmp(), I don't understand how (or why) it works.
I'll commit some cleanups which will be in the CVS snapshot tomorrow. If they work, then I'll back-port them to 1.0.0.
I finally had a chance to try the 20040625 snapshot. Works as I would expect. Thanks! At least I feel a little less crazy :)
