Hi all, I thought I’d pop this directly to the list as the
implementation is perhaps a strange one…. I have an apartment building in which we sell internet
access on a “per user” basis. This is achieved through wiring
the building and placing a linux server in the basement which performs NAT
functions and which we use to control access to the net. I would like to switch this over to a radius based
authentication system, but I cannot figure out how this would be implemented. The general idea is when a user attempts to access a
resource outside the building, a browser window should pop up forcing them to
authenticate via a radius server. Once they have been authenticated, we need to then track
usage…. When the browser window is closed, the session should end. Is this a big ask? Or can someone point me in the
right direction? I had a quick look at the Apache Mod for radius, however
this seems to be more focused on using radius authentication to allow access to
directories on the web server itself. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated…… Thanks, Callum |
