How did you compile it?
I did ./configure && make && make install

I had a similar error with 1.01 on FC 2. I didn't need krb5 so I just configured it without krb5 and it compiled fine.

Fedora Core 2 appears to have put com_err.h somewhere surprising, or you don't have the kerberos5 development packages installed. Both of these should have solutions findable in the mailing list archives.
