Hi,

some time ago I had a project with these switches. As far as I remember we had 
to use MD5 hash sums, since the siwtch could not understand other methods of 
authentication. Everything is described in the manuals of these swtiches. 
Please take a look into the manuals. 

But with MD5 everything wend smooth, no problems. Please feel free to contact 
me if you still have problems. Perhaps I can copy and past some things from 
the documentation of that project.
