as per the stuff that gets spewed to the screen when you do make install, ensure that /usr/local/lib in in your library path! /etc/ld.so.conf or somesuch (depends on OS/distro) will need to have that path added - after which you need to /sbin/ldconfig -v alan - List info/subscribe/unsubscribe?
