  You could always try building it by hand.

  Also, when running it in gdb, try:

(gdb) break radius_signal_self
(gdb) cond 1 (flag == 2)

(gdb) run

  That should catch the case where it's been told to exit.  That should
be the *only* case where it exits the event loop.
