NT/XP Windows Browsing

For some reason my new VPN, while it allows users to connect, is not showing 
the users as logged into the Samba-hosted network, nor is it allowing the 
users to browse or use the shares on the SMB network.  Any particular 
components of freeradius that would affect this?  Using ntlm_auth to the 
Samba server.  I had an old (2002-2003) setup that did allow users to browse 
the SMB net.
