You DO know that testing connectivity is MORE than just PING, right? git uses TCP port 9418 by default, so try a simple test like this: $ telnet git.freeradius.org 9418 If that port is blocked (by your ISP, perhaps), try https://github.com/alandekok/freeradius-server/tree/v2.1.x (should work, since even the most restrictive ISPs usually allow https).
