I got it working after creating a new virtual machine
this time, I could connect without the admin console. One other thing might
be the edition: the previous virtual machine was Windows Server 2008 R2
Standard, while this one is Enterprise instead. Maybe Standard doesn't have
it, even on Windows Server?
