properjavardp is based on rdesktop, much much smaller code base. If you want basic stuff, yes, it's easy to impl. We have a requirement to work without installing client s/w, cross-platform and integrated into our existing web app. The obvious way to do this is in-browser (e.g. with Guacamole/guacd+libfreerdb or freerdp-webconnect) but this fails with people running 'old' browsers (for this read IE early than IE10 - sadly there is a lot of this still running in enterprises). For these folks we need give the Java support. Given properjavardp already connects to Windows Server 2008, my suspicion was that the incremental work to support Windows Server 2012 would be small. Am I wrong about that?
