Hi all..
ive tryed the livecd of freesbie, and i liked, so i
went on installing it! it went pretty smooth until it ended the installation and
started the configuration. when i choose to configure it stops on the first
command:
command failed!
execution of the command
/Freesbie/sbin/mount /Freesbie/dev/ad0s1h
/Freesbie/mnt
failed with a return code of 1.
ive checked the log:
and it says:
/Freesbie/dev/ad0s1h : no such file or
directory!
...
so i move on skipping this task!
with the returning error:
filesystem table on installed system could not be
read!
stranj!!!..
ive clicked ok.. and it goes another "failed with a
return code of 1."
executing:
'/freesbie/sbin/umount /freesbie/mnt' |
umount: /freesbie/mnt: not a file system root directory
( thats normal... couse of the first error report
)
...ive skipped again; with the returning info:
"target system could not be mounted"
i clicked ok... by now i was sad! couse it went to
the starting "welcome to freebsd live cd" window
..
desesperate! i tryed the " configure an installed
system "
it went smooth in all commands of the
script!
and i start to configure the system... timezone;
net adapter, roots pass, etc! all went ok with no problems!
...stranj!!!!!!!!
..so when all configs were done.. i returned to the
welcome menu! ..and did a "reboot this computer"
...
i taked out the live cd from the
tray...
but.. strangely it hanged on trying to reboot! upon
this errors:

/scripts/installer: shutdown: input/output
error

cat: /root/.xorg_wm: no such file or
directory
vm_fault: pager read error, pid 1690

..and went on and on!
till i did a reset on the machine!
..
now i can see the hdd gots a boot record! couse its
telling me what to choose!
i choosed
1) freebsd
..
went to a window so i could choose my keyboard
language!
i choosed Portuguese!
..went on to the freesbie user
interaction!
i choosed fluxbox as wm!
..
i starts the system!
going straight away to the fluxbox.. not asking me
the login/password ..stranj!
then when ive noticed that x10 as mine network
adapter wasnt configured! then ive noticed that the keyboard layout wasnt the
one ive choosed... the configuration scripts seemed to me that they didnt worked
as expected!
what can i do to resolve this?
is it a bug on the bsdinstaller?
or some script that i can change in order to
configure the sys?
running hardware:
amd k7 athlon 700mhz
512mb ram
2x 10gig hdd
( no errors in the dmesg )
