Remi -

I'm not discouraged, I really want this to work and am willing to do anything I can to help get it working.

Our problems seem similar but aren't exactly the same. Back on Feb. 24 I posted a message in this thread that showed what packages I'm trying to install and what packages I am having problems with. It seems to be mostly non-cli programs that I'm having issues with. Recently I found that 6.packages.sh appears to be adding those packages to the LOCALDIR/.freesbie_tmp/X11R6/bin/ correctly they're just not being placed in the ISO.

hi,

I'm happy to see that i'm not the only one to have these problems. I
don't want to discourage you Ben, but the problems i have with
6.package.sh are encoutered with 2 fresh installs of 5.3 freebsd and 1
install of freesbie on hard drive too. I dunno what to try next. It
seems that the only CD i can make with the scripts is a cd that contains
minimal Unix tools (sh, ls, ...) nothing more. Even just emacs doesn't
works :/

May i insist but a doc that would explain what do you do exactly Dave,
(including freebsd installation) to get it work may be very helpful.

Regards,
        Remi.

I decided to take your advice and create a CD with just Xorg and XFCE4
on it. The result was the same. This time I did notice that /usr/home/freesbie/.freesbie_tmp/X11R6/bin/ contains startx and startxfce4 (even after I run scripts 7, 8, and 81) so those programs appear to be added using 6.packages.sh they're just not being put onto
the CD.

Again, I'm planning on rebuilding my system from scratch when FreeBSD 5.4 becomes official unless this helps someone see something that's causing my system to not build the ISO properly.

Thanks,

Ben

Any further progress on this situation??

I downloaded the lastest freesbie scripts. And the answer is no :

the>problem is still here :/

Try to isolate the problem choosing only few packages discovering the one(s) with problems.
